Rintje Agricola, MD, PhD
Rintje Agricola is an orthopaedic surgeon at the Anna hospital Eindhoven and a principal investigator at Erasmus University Medical Centre Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He received his PhD (cum laude) on the aetiology of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) in athletes during skeletal growth and its risk for development of osteoarthritis later in life. Both clinically and with his research team he is focusing on hip pathology from young (athletes) to old. He initiated and chairs the World COACH consortium on hip osteoarthritis. In the past years, he was awarded several prestigious grants to study hip growth and the development of hip osteoarthritis. In the Anna hospital he coordinates a multidisciplinary hip and groin clinic and focuses on hip arthroscopy and total hip replacement.
